What If Every Day Was A Good Day?

“Doing your best
is not good enough.

You have to know
what to do.

Then do your best.”

W.E. Deming

“The problem of (challenge for) management is maintaining
consistency of purpose.

Even when the aim is focused on the center of the target,
if the rest of the company is off doing their best without knowing what to do,
results will not live up to expectations.”

What Dr. Deming taught decades ago continues to be true today. Despite the fact that everyone may be “doing their best”, for many companies there is a chronic disconnect between corporate vision, mission and objectives, and the execution of critical activities throughout the organization from management down to the individual contributor level. Doing our best alone is indeed not good enough.

So what’s the problem? Let me tell you what it is not. It is not lack of clarity of corporate vision, mission or objectives. And, it is not the truly well intended employees who actually are doing their very best to succeed. The problem is ineffective adoption. The soultion is the Have A Good Day! Change Adoptioin program.
